Dave Brethauer is coming to Stamper's Alley!

Dave is the owner of Memory Box stamps as well as the author of several books on colored pencils and watercoloring, and he is coming to Stamper's Alley to teach a class in August! We are so excited!!! We don't have a definite date yet, but it will be sometime between August 24 and August 28, so mark your calendars and we will keep you updated.

Dave is a very talented artist and will share his tips for creating beautifully colored images with you. There will be one 2 hour class in the morning and another in the afternoon. The class fees are $40 for one class, or $70 for both. HeI will provide colored pencils, watercolor pencils and brushes. If you is comfortable using your own pencils, brushes, paints, you can bring your own, too - and students need to bring a paper trimmer and adhesive (strong double stick tape works well for the watercolor class).

Here are the class details:

Memory Box Colored Pencils

Come and learn about color, blending and shading while using Memory Box images and papers. Each student will make 5 cards using colored pencil techniques that will make you color like a pro. We'll put color to work in analogous and complementary colors schemes to really make your greeting cards stand out!

Memory Box Watercolor

This fun class teaches watercolor through watercolor paints and watercolor pencils. Learn the advantages of each watercolor media and get some helpful tips for applying watercolor to greeting cards. Try out different types of watercolor paper while learning washes and blending techniques. Each student will create 5 cards in an informative and supportive teaching style.

New Stamper's Alley Rewards Program

Beginning January 6th Stamper's Alley will begin a new program. For every purchase totaling $25 or more (before taxes and excluding gift certificate purchases), you will be eligible to register for a special drawing. The prize will be a Stamper's Alley Gift Certificate in the amount of $50 (valid for regular price, in stock merchandise only and cannot be applied to class fees). The drawing will be held on the last Saturday of each month, after which the remaining entries will be discarded. One entry per person per day. You do not need to be present to win. Gift certificate is valid for 3 months from date of issue.

Discount Day

On the 15th of every month receive 15% off your entire order (regular priced items only, special orders excluded). If the 15th falls on a Sunday, Monday or a holiday the reward will be given the next day the shop is open. The discount will absolutely not be given before the 15th. You must be present in the store to receive the discount, mail orders not eligible.

Cards for Our Troops

Please consider participating in this program. Our troops have been overseas for a long time and need to know that we are supporting them. It only takes a few minutes of your time and a few supplies to make a card that will make a soldier smile. The cards don't need to be elaborate, simple "Thinking of You" or even "Thank You" cards are fine (please do not put any glitter on the cards). Some of the soldiers don't get any mail at all and a card from you could make all the difference.

Cards for Meals On Wheels

These are cards to be placed on the trays of food recipients. These should be cheery cards, such as "Thinking of You" or "Have a Great Day", that will fill their hearts with smiles. The Meals on Wheels people have a list of the recipients birthdays, so feel free to include some birthday cards, too. Please sign the inside of the card (i.e. your name or "Your friend from Stamper's Alley", etc.) AND no envelopes are needed. For some of these people, this may be the only thing they receive during the year, and some of them have very little contact with people on a regular basis. We want to bring joy each month to their lives. They told us that they average 130 meals each day, so get out those stamps and ink pads, ladies, and get to stamping! They are enjoying these cards tremendously!!!! They are so excited each month when I deliver the cards. The smiles and thank yous from the staff are sent to each and everyone of you. Keep those cards coming :-)

Stamp of the Month Program

We offer a Stamp of the Month Program through a wonderful stamp company called Great Impressions. Each month we will have new stamps that were used to create an astonishing sample board. All of the stamps used on the board are available for purchase and one stamp is featured as the Stamp of the Month. You may buy that stamp at half price with a $10 purchase of anything in the store. There is also an instruction sheet and color photograph of the board that you can purchase as well. The Stamp of the Month section is located near the door at the entrance to the store. Please ask at the cash register if you have any questions.

Birthday Discount Program

Come in during the month of your birthday, show your driver's license and receive 20% OFF YOUR ENTIRE PURCHASE! (valid only once during that month). Remember, you have only the month in which your birthday falls to take advantage of this discount. If you miss your month, you must wait until your next birthday.

Special Orders

We will be happy to place a special order for you, but please be aware that you will be required to prepay. This is due to the fact that minimums must be reached with the companies before we are able to place the order. Therefore, ordering and shipping times will range from 2-6 weeks, depending on how long it takes to reach that minimum.

Store Policies:

Returns: There will be no returns on magazines, books, stamps, punches, or any opened items. Please make sure you do not already have an item before you purchase it. Consider making a record of your stamping supplies and having it with you when you shop.

Gift Certificates: Gift certificates are available for purchase, but may be used for merchandise only and may not be applied to class fees.

Cell Phones in Classes: When attending a class, please turn all cell phones off or to vibrate. If it is absolutely necessary to receive OR place a call, please step outside the classroom so that class may proceed without interruption. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
